You Have A Father

Luke 15:11-24
I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son …”(Luke 15:18-19).

Friend, we have a father we can return to and ask for mercy and forgiveness. We have a father who owns the cattle on a thousand hills who is willing and ready to help us.

We may not know where to find a Boaz to help and favor us, but we have God. We may not know the company owner, the Governor or the Prime Minister who would grant us what we desire, but we have a God who says, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:23).

He is the One I invite you to look on today. As good as the story f Ruth and her recovery are, we have a better Kinsman Redeemer in Jesus Christ who came to give us the abundant life (see John 10:10b). Just like the prodigal son’s father, God’s heart is filled with love and compassion for us. All He wants is for us to recognize that He is waiting to receive us so that we can be restored and be set on the path of recovery again.

God knows how to turn things around and work all things together for our good. He is calling and waiting for you. Are you ready to let him in? He is standing at the door of your  heart, waiting for you to open it for Him (see Revelation 3: 20). Let us pray.

Your Turn

  • Talk to God about your need for a father.
  • Ask Him to be your Boaz and do what only He can do to restore you and set you on your path to recovery.

Hymn: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty.
