Why We Need Intimacy
Psalm 27:1-14
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1).
I seem to hear someone say, “Why do we need to maintain intimacy with God when it is my walk with Him that got
me into trouble in the first place”? The answer is not farfetched. First, we need the protection and safety of God. The
Bible says. “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe” (Proverbs 8:10). In Christ,
you are safe.
Second, we need the help and wisdom of God, so we will know what to do and how to act. The Bible says, “Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come” (Jeremiah 33:3, NLT). Troubled times are not the time to think that, “God does not care; I will look for help from other places”. No! Daniel did not do that.
Third, Daniel knew the power of God. King Darius knew too. He prayed for his friend saying, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you” (Daniel 6:16.).
Friend, let us learn from these saints and stand firm in our faith. It will not end here so we must be watchful not to lose our salvation. Paul and Silas prayed, God answered them. The church prayed, Peter was set free through a divinely orchestrated jail break. May the Lord grant you more understanding in Jesus Name. May you be confident in your faith that God will deliver you. Shalom.
