Ruth 3:1-5
Freshen up, put on some perfume, dress up, and go down to the threshing floor … He will make it clear what you must do (Ruth 3:3-4, God’s Word Translation).

I am a firm believer in having spiritual covering and leadership. I have experienced and enjoyed the influence that such men and women bring into our lives and ministry when we submit to their leadership.

I have also seen the negative effect of not having a spiritual covering or someone to whom you are submitted to. Observing some of the recent leadership problems in the church, many of them were due to lack of spiritual covering and leadership. Some have it at the start of their ministry but fail to continue to submit as they grow in ministry. They become carried away with the success and end up falling.

Friend, you cannot run this race without a spiritual father and covering. You cannot go far in ministry without a covering and a prophetic voice speaking to your life. I salute the men and women that God has positioned in my life. They are few but I can call them at any hour and they have a word of wisdom that will show the next step.

Naomi served as a covering for Ruth. She spoke into her life and we could see how her words guided Ruth every step of the way. May the Lord open your eyes to this truth and lead you to men and women with genuine interest in your life. You do not need many just two or three will suffice. Shalom.
