We Pray For Ourselves
1 Chronicles 4:9 – 10
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me … that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.(1 Chronicles 4:10).
Today, we would begin a three-day prayer for ourselves and ask the Lord to visit us and bless us.
By prayer Jabez’s destiny was changed. He prayed and God granted his heart’s desire. Imagine if he had failed to pray may be he would have remained a pain to his family till death.
Only God knows what would happen if we pray. You see, God is never afraid of our prayers. We are the ones who are not taking advantage of the access we have to Him to pray as we ought.
I employ you to pray these prayers with expectation in your heart. If God answered Jabez, I believe He would answer us. Let us pray.
- Thank God for the privilege to pray.
- Thank Him for what He has done for you this year.
- Ask the Lord to bless you and your family for the rest of the year.
- Pray that the Lord will enlarge your territory and circle of influence.
- Pray for God’s favour and presence in your life.
- Ask the Lord to keep you from evil.
- Pray that your life will be a blessing and you will not cause pain.
- Thank God for answered prayer.
Your Turn
- Thank God for His love and faithfulness to you.
Song: We give You all the glory.
