Understand Our Link To God
John 3:1-21
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
Jesus’ birth as the Messiah was predicted by the prophets in the Old Testament. He lived and fulfilled all that was written about Him. Not only that, God the Father called Him, His beloved Son. Friend, since God cannot lie such a person is worth our attention – to know and to love.
At His baptism, a voice spoke from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). On the mount of transfiguration, an angel spoke, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” (Matthew 17:5). It points to the fact that the knowledge of Jesus, His purpose and how He lived is of utmost importance to all mankind.
We should study Jesus to understand and know Him as the link to God and ultimately to eternity. Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Those who failed to believe Him will be doomed and face the second death which is eternal separation from God.
