Time To Pray
Isaiah 62:1-12
For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness…
Isaiah 62:1.
Having learnt about faith and how we can rely on God, take Him at His word; it is time for us to pray. It is time
for us to seek His face for our lives and that of others. It is time to pray for our nation and plead the mercy of God over our land.
The passage we read says, “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem, who shall never hold their peace day or
night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth” (Isaiah 62:6-7). God wants us to pray because He wants to answer us.
He wants us to intercede on behalf of others until we see our desires come to pass. Looking at verse 7, it also means that there are certain things that will not happen if we do not pray. To make a place a “praise” is to make it shine forth in glory. It is to make it a blessing. This is God’s desire and we must not miss it through our prayerlessness.
May God’s light and righteousness shine forth upon our lives. May we experience His grace abundantly as we pray. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Pray for yourself, city and neighbors who are in distress.
- Ask that the Lord will brood over your life and move you into your desired place.
- Pray for me and my family that God’s presence and favor will not leave us. Thank you.
Song: He has promised He will never fail.
