There Is Hope
Ruth 1:22
So Naomi returned from Moab accompanied by Ruth the Moabite, her daughter-in-law, arriving in Bethlehem as the barley harvest was beginning (Ruth 1:22, NIV).
We thank God for how He has been speaking to us through His word and shaping our lives by the revelation of His divine truth. Today, I encourage you to focus on God in your situation. Stop allowing what happens to you to control the rest of your life and determine how you turn out.
You see, the next season of your life is a brand new one. It has the potential to be the best season of your life. Remember, the path of the righteous shine brighter and not less (Proverbs 4:18). No
matter where you are now, things could change and your captivity restored. Job writes, “For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease” (Job 14:7).
Naomi failed to see the good that the Lord was about to make happen in her life. The potential of the future was about to be sacrificed on the platter of the pain of the past. Why did I say so? Well, the best time to arrive in any city and nation is the season of harvest when the economy is booming and good. That was the season that Naomi and Ruth arrived. They arrived at the beginning
of the barley harvest.
Friend, may we not allow our pain to blind us to the potential of the present and the change and abundance that the future has in store for us.
Your Turn
- In what ways are you allowing your circumstances to blind you from seeing possible potentials and opportunities and the future that God is taking you into?
- How have you allowed your past to delude you from seeing the present blessings in your life?
- Pray for yourself as you are led by the Holy Spirit.
Song: Open the eyes of my heart Lord.
