James 1:19-22
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves (James 1:22).

Friend, the year 2017 is the year of personal transformation.

It is the year we would need to cooperate with the Lord and let Him help us to change our lives and move us to the next level. This could be a desired level of spiritual growth, marital peace, career progression or having a dream fulfilled.

It is a year you can decide to work on any area of your life and trust God for the change you desire. Remember, “The desire of the righteous shall be granted” (Proverbs 10:24b). So, if you desire nothing then you would have no one to blame by December 31^st.

Above all, God wants us to make this year a year we will pay attention to His word and let it transform our lives. Many of us are filled with head knowledge of the word of God. It is time to move from knowing to doing, so that we can begin to experience the transforming power in it. It is time we began to know what it means to be partakers of the divine nature through the application of the word.

James knew its importance when he writes, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves” (James 1: 22). The Lord will help us as we look to Him for our desired change. Shalom.
