Thank God Continually

1 Thessalonians 2:13
For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God…

Friend, we must thank God continually. We thank God for the results that we see in our lives. If we prayed for someone and God answered, all glory should go to Him. When we preach the word or write a book and people are blessed, all glory goes to God.

Why do we need to do this? The answer is not concealed. Many have prayed and never received an answer. Others have preached better sermons and wrote powerful books but the impact was not as profound as expected.

Thanksgiving is also an antidote against depression and unhealthy comparison. If we focus on thanking God and praising Him for His blessings in our lives and what He is doing through our ministries, we will not have the time to envy others or be bitter at what they do.

Paul said, “We also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe” (1 Thessalonians 2:13).  This is coming from a humble team.

From today, let us make it a habit to be thankful people – men and women, young and old who continually appreciate God for His wonders in our lives. We must not take the blessings of God for granted. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Thank God for what He is doing in your life.
  • Pray that you will be more alert to His blessings more than you are to delayed answers.

Song:  Praise God. Alleluia.  Praise God, Amen.
