Several Ways God Provides (II)

Joshua 5:1-12; Exodus 12:35-36
Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten  the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year (Joshua 5:12).

Today, we will look at other ways that God provides for us.

  1. Through your work. God gives us jobs and careers so that we can prosper and be able to meet our needs. In Joshua 5, we were told that the manna ceased and God told them it is time to work with your hands and get your own harvest. In the same way, Paul told the Thessalonians to work with their own hands. God promises to bless you if you work.

In Deuteronomy 8:18, God said He has given us power to make wealth. The power He gave you is to enable you experience the abundance that will meet your needs and make you to be a blessing to others. God will give you creative ideas that will require you to use your gifts and talents to make money. This is how God blesses you by your own hands. Depending on your type of work, you may become an employer of labor. Your skill sets are assets that God wants to bless, so that you can use them and make money.

  1. Through your enemies. In Exodus 12, the children of Israel left Egypt with gifts. “And the Lord had given the  people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians” (Exodus 12:36). God used their enemies to provide for them.
