Ruth In Transition

Ruth 3:16-18
Then Naomi said, “Wait, my daughter, until you find out what happens. For the man will not rest until the matter is settled today” (Ruth 3:18, NIV).

No one loves to be in the position Ruth found herself in this passage. Yet, she had to wait in hope and in faith. She waited and trusted Boaz’s judgment and his promise to do whatever it took to attend to her request for a kinsman redeemer.

This is exactly what happens to us when we are in time or season of transition. In transition, we are waiting on God, standing in faith and hoping that His promise to us will come to pass on time. In transition, we are not where we want to be yet we cannot go back to where we used to be or do what we used to do. All we can do is to stand still and wait for the salvation of the Lord.

Friend, it is easy to hide when you have not told people what God told you. But when you say God is the One who spoke to you, then you have to stand by that word and trust that God will show up. That is how to survive the time and season of transition. The good news is that God will always come through and fulfill His promise to us. See 1 Thessalonians 5:18; Philippians 1:6. The same God who finally gave Ruth a home and the security that she needed will answer us. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Talk to God about your struggles as you wait on Him to fulfill His promise in your life.
  • Ask the Lord to show you what you need to do as you wait on Him.
