Praise And Worship
Psalm 95:1-7a
Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. (Psalm 95:6).
Continuing from where we stopped yesterday, one thing we need to know is that when we are genuinely broken, being aware of our sinfulness and unworthiness, we will be humbled to offer true worship.
This is one of the things that we are missing in the church. We seem to have lost the biblical meaning of praise and worship. We have forgotten that to worship God is a command and not a suggestion. Many times we experience closed heaven because we fail to order our conversations of worship aright in His presence. See Psalm 50:22.
Our worship must come from the depth of appreciation and understanding of who God is. We must move from praise to worship God for who He is, not just for what He has done in our lives. He is a global God and He continues to rule in the affairs of men. That is the God we serve.
Friend, anybody can praise God and thank Him, but it takes a heart that is bowed before Him to worship. It is not about music or songs, it is about the heart. Worship is an attitude of the heart. It is about repentance and appreciating His Lordship as the God who made the heaven and the earth. When you do this, sooner than you think, His rain will begin to fall on you. Shalom.
