Petition For Grace
Psalm 56:1-13
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You (Psalm 56:3).
Fear comes to us all. Sometimes, it has a full grip on us. We surrender to our fears because we feel helpless and think
there is nothing we can do about it. But we have God. He is powerful and able to save.
The Scripture says, “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You …In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? (Psalm 56:3-4).The same feeling is expressed in Psalm 118. “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is for me among those who help me; Therefore, I shall see my desire on those who hate me” (Psalm 118:6-7).
You see, the more we take time to reflect on these psalms, the more we will be able to stand firm in faith and trust in the power of our God. We are not afraid of the power of the enemy, not because we are a match for them in the flesh, but because greater is the Lord who lives in us (See 1 John 4:4).
Many of us will be misunderstood, misinterpreted and maligned by the enemy at home, in our families, offices and
communities. To avoid bitterness, let us learn to take our case to the Lord. Let your hope and trust be in the Lord. He has delivered you before, He will do it again. Shalom.
