Personal Growth
Ephesians 5:15 – 17
Therefore do not be unwise. (Ephesians 5:17).
Another area we need to plan and design our lives is in personal growth. Just as we should plan our spiritual growth, we need to plan our career and personal growth as well.
To plan effectively, we need to assess what we have, where we are now and where we want to be. This would involve doing a personal inventory of our gifts, talents, skills and abilities. Few years ago, I became dissatisfied with where I was. I had a sense about the need to plan for the future. This led to a season of prayer and planning.
With God’s favor and approval, I went back to school again. I completed two post graduate degrees. It was a timely decision. Now I can focus on my family, ministry and career. I believe I am also equipped with what to do with the next half of my life while not resting on my oars.
Paul says, “Do not be unwise” (Ephesians 5: 17). Friend, pursue personal growth. Be alert to your environment and season. Understand the time and plan. Where do you want to be in the next one year, three years or five years? Plan it and work towards it. May the Lord help us to be wise Christians in Jesus’ Name. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Pray about your plan to improve yourself this year.
- Pray that you will not end the year on the same spot without improvement.
- Ask for the grace and the resources you would need to move forward.
Song: I love you Lord.
