Open Your Mouth Wide
Isaiah 1:2; Deuteronomy 32:1
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. (Psalm 81:10).
Another area we need to be intentional is in our speaking.
Friend, it is time to make it a habit to speak the word of God. It is time to learn to open our mouth and speak the word God has placed in our heart by faith.
The saints of old were not afraid to speak God’s word because they believed it. The prophets were bold to call on the heavens and earth to listen to them because they had a word from the Lord. Isaiah says, “Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth! For the LORD has spoken: “I have nourished and brought up children, And they have rebelled against Me”( Isaiah 1:2). See also Micah 1:2 and Deuteronomy 32:1- 2.
These men saw themselves as God’s oracles and performed that role. If we want the world to pay attention to us, we must be bold to declare the word the Lord has given us. If we want our situations and circumstances to change we must speak the word.
This year the Lord has said to us ‘it shall be well’. Our role then is to key in and continue to confess it until our situations change. Remember, “You will also declare a thing and it will be established for you” (Job 22:28). Open your mouth and declare your victory. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Thank God for this word.
