I love The Living Bible paraphrase used in our focal test because it captures the two points mentioned. “Stay always within the boundaries where God’s love can reach and bless you. Wait patiently for the eternal life that our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy is going to give you” (Jude 21).

Friend, it is worth repeating that in our preparation to fight for the truth, we will do well to stay within the boundaries of God’s love by loving Him. This would pave the way for us to continue to have faith and look forward to His mercy that would be revealed at the end of time.

It is the mercy of God that would help us to stand firm, keep us in His love and remain faithful to Him so that we can receive the full manifestation of eternal life that we have been promised.

Look forward to God’s mercy because no one can live without His grace and mercy. In our battle against false teachers, we must always remember that we stand because God’s mercy sustains us. Remember, “It is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy” (Romans 9:16).

We wait patiently for eternal life, therefore we do not faint or lose hope when we see how and what these false teachers do to derail many people. The Lord will help us. Shalom.
