Life Stressors

Luke 8:4-15
Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity ( Luke  8:14).

When we are weak we will be prone to all manner of teachings, thoughts that may not be in conformity with the word of God. That is why we need to contend for the truth that we have. In this case you want to ensure that what you have is not taken from you because of the stress that you are going through or the challenges that you have.

When the stress of life came, the seed that was already germinating withered because it was choked out. The Bible says, “Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity” (vs. 14). We cannot afford to be in this position.

Remember, it is those that endure to the end that will be saved. We must not be among those who lay their hand on the plow and then look back. We must stand strong and be a witness for Christ to the end. “But Jesus said to him, ‘No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God’ ” (Luke 9:62).

Jesus died for us on the cross. We must stand for Him and for the truth He gave us – eternal life in Him.
