Let Us Pray

Isaiah 5: 13
“My people will go into exile because they don’t understand what I’m doing. Honored men will starve, and common people will be parched with thirst.”
Isaiah 5:13, GWT.

Today, we will pause and pray for ourselves. Reading through Isaiah Chapter 5, my attention was drawn to today’s focal text. I sense the need for us to pray. The Bible says, “My people will go into exile because they don’t understand what I’m doing. Honored men will starve, and common people will be parched with thirst.”(Isaiah 5:13, GWT).

Friend, may we not go into exile or slavery because we failed to discern the plans and purposes of the Lord for our lives. May we not be demoted or made redundant because we failed to move when the Lord says we should move. May we not sit with the ungodly because we have a myopic view of life and think that the meat of Egypt is better than the manna of the Lord. Let us pray.

1. Thank God for the opportunity to pray.
2. Confess and ask the Lord to forgive your sins.
3. Ask the Lord to deliver you and bring you out of any exile that you have gone into because you failed to understand what He was doing in your life.
4. Ask the Lord for forgiveness for walking into traps and self-inflicted slavery because you could not discern what the Lord was doing around you.
5. Ask the Lord to show us mercy and restore the lost glory of our land.
6. Thank God for what He will do in response to your prayers.

Your Turn

  • Pray the above prayers.
  • Thank God for answers and the change that is coming into your life.

Song: God will make a way where there seems to be no way.
