Let Us Pray

2 Timothy 4:1-8
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires (2 Timothy 4:3, NASB)

Having read today’s devotional passage, we will take time and pray for ourselves.

Paul, knowing the end was near for him, wrote to Timothy to alert him saying, “The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers” (2 Timothy 4:3). It is already happening. Let us pray that we will not become one of them too.

  1. Thank God for His word and the light that continues to shine in our hearts.
  2. Thank God for what you have learnt this month and how it has empowered you in your walk with God.
  3. Pray for the grace to continue to grow in the truth as taught in the word of God.
  4. Pray for the grace to hear and endure sound doctrine.
  5. Pray that you will not lose your hunger for the word.
  6. Pray: “Father, help me not to turn my ears away from the truth of your word”.
  7. Pray for a tender heart that is open to the word of God. See James 1: 21-22.
  8. Thank Him for what He is doing in your heart and life.
  9. Praise Him for what He will do in the days to come.
  10. Pray for me that I will be strong in the truth – spirit, soul and body. Thank you.

Hymn: Great is thy faithfulness O Lord, my Father.
