Let God Fight For You
Psalm 140:1-13
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from men of violence who plan to trip my feet (Psalm 140:4, NIV).
Whether you believe it or not, someone out there does not want you to be alive. He or she wants you dead. That you are alive – whether poor or rich – is a pain to them and they are planning day and night to see that you are wiped out from this planet. What would you do about them?
King David set an example of what to do for us. He prayed, “Rescue me, O LORD, from evil men; protect me from men of violence” (vs.1 NIV). You see, the matter of spiritual warfare is not one that you fight with your physical strength. You have to do so spiritually and with alertness. Our weapons are not carnal, that is why we need to engage the strong arm of the Lord to rescue and deliver us by calling on His Name.
Remember,
7. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
8. They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright.
9. Save, Lord! May the King answer us when we call (Psalm 20:7-9).
Fight with the sword of the Lord and His word in your mouth. Plead the blood of Jesus and engage the angels of the Lord to fight on your behalf. Take advantage of the Lord’s presence. God is for you and not against you.
Your Turn
