It Strengthens Your Readiness

1  Peter  3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.

One of the benefits of building your faith is that it helps to strengthen your readiness. It helps you to be confident to know how to defend your faith in God. If you meet an atheist or someone who is a post-modernist, who believe that reality is socially constructed, you will know what to say because you are growing in the knowledge of God.

Friend, you are not wasting time to know God and grow your faith. You are not wasting time to be grounded in the truth of the word of God. It is for your good. What you know is what you will remember to apply to test the spirit of error.  “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1).

When we know the truth because we are actively building our faith, we will stand firm in the face of opposition. Apostle Peter writes, “Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear” (1 Peter 3:15).

Friend, think on these things. See the benefits that will be yours as you embark on a new journey of studying the word of God and loving it. The Lord will bless you. Shalom.
