It Is A Partnership
Psalm 127:1-5
Now therefore, please be careful not to drink wine or similar drink, and not to eat anything unclean (Judges 13:4).
Indeed the ways of God are beyond us. When we are allowed to catch a glimpse of His purpose and will we should appreciate Him for it.
Normally, because of the greatness of our God, no one would have thought that God would need the cooperation of men to fulfill His purpose. Yet, the Bible is full of examples of incidents where God required a partnership between us to do His will. Many times, He would say, “If you do this, I will do that”. No wonder, the Scripture in Philippians 2:13 says, “It is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure”.
So, when the angel visited Mrs. Manoah, he implored her to obey certain rules so that God’s will could be achieved as planned. He told her, “Now therefore, please be careful not to drink wine or similar drink, and not to eat anything unclean” (Judges 13:4). With God’s help she obeyed and Samson was born and raised for the Lord’s use.
It may be we have been struggling on our own to please the Lord, but God wants us to call on Him to help us. He wants to partner with us and help us to fulfill His purpose in our lives. Friend, it is time to pray and ask the Lord for help to do His will.
Your Turn
- Pray for yourself.
- Ask for the help you need so that you can cooperate with the Lord in fulfilling His purpose in your life.
- Ask for the grace to work with Him.
