He Does Not Remember

Jeremiah 31:31-34
For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more (Jeremiah 31:34).

Friend, we are living in the day that the prophets prophesied about. Our generation became the beneficiary of the new covenant because of the work of Christ on the cross. We can come to the Lord and stand unashamed in His presence.

By redemption and through the blood of the Lamb we have become the sons of God. Our sins are forgiven because we have believed on Him and in His Son Jesus Christ. It is not that God cannot remember our sins and the offences we have committed but He has chosen not to remember.

That is why the writer of Hebrews repeated our focal text in two passages. See Hebrews 8:12; Hebrews 10:17. If God has chosen not to remember, we will do ourselves a lot of good if we also decide not to remember. Let us focus on the blessings of forgiveness we have received and not on the sins we committed.

Do not wallow in the pain of guilt, regrets and shame. Rejoice and be glad in the fact that we have been forgiven. Whenever doubt and fear of your past life come to your heart, always remember that through the blood of the Lamb you have been forgiven. God has forgiven you. Thank the Lord for His immeasurable love.

Your Turn

  • Thank God for His love for us and the forgiveness of sins we have received from Him.
  • Pray for yourself.

Hymn: Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power? ( there’s power in the blood ).
