Luke 24:1- 12
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life”. (John 11:25a).

Happy Resurrection Day! We thank God for the opportunity to celebrate the life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I hope you will have the opportunity to partake of the Holy Communion. It is a good way to complete the day.

The passage we read shows that the disciples did not understand all that Jesus told them about His death and resurrection. This is because they were yet to be filled with the Holy Spirit to enlighten their heart and grant them understanding.

Three days after His burial, they went to the tomb with spices to continue His embalmment. But to their surprise they met two angels who said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified’ ” (Luke 24:5 -7).

Friend, this is the reason we celebrate – the tomb is empty because Jesus is alive. He arose and we have the victory. The laws of death, hell and sin could not hold Him down. Let us give gratitude to the One who saves and forgives iniquity. Jesus Christ is the reason we celebrate the Resurrection Day. Happy Easter celebration!
