Grace To Stand Firm
Colossians 2:1-5
For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is (Colossians 2:5, NIV).
We will continue to pray and prepare our spirit for the days to come. Today, we would pray for ourselves. The focus is to pray for grace to be disciplined and maintain our walk with the Lord so as to stand firm in our love for Him.
When we maintain a disciplined walk with God, we will live for Him. We will live holy lives as we live by the word (see 1 Peter 1:16). When we stand firm in faith, we will please God because faith is what pleases Him. Not only that, we will also fulfill the purpose He left us here on earth – to be salt and light in the world (Matthew 5:13-14). Let us pray:
1. Thank God for the privilege to come before Him and worship.
2. Praise Him for the work He is doing in your life through the Holy Spirit.
3. Ask the Lord to cleanse you and purge your heart of any sin.
4. Pray that you will be more disciplined in your walk with Him through prayer and study of the word, and bring Him glory with your lifestyle.
5. Pray for the grace to stand firm in your faith in the Son of God.
6. Pray that the Holy Spirit will fill you with wisdom and power you need to reign in life and shine as light.
7. Ask the Lord for a fresh release of His glory upon you (see Isaiah 60:1-3).
8. Thank Him for hearing and helping you to seek His face.
