God Will Take Care Of You
1 Kings 17:1-7
The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.
1 Kings 17:6.
When we are on assignment for God, He takes care of us. He is not a God who abandons His own. See Isaiah 49:15. Today’s passage confirms this. God led His servant, Prophet Elijah, to declare famine in the land. Yet, He made
provision for Him.
One of the lessons I learned from this passage is: if God is leading and using me, then He will take care of me. If He
chooses to use an enemy to bless me, so be it. Who would have thought that God would use a raven to be His servant’s steward? God can use anything and anybody at any time.
Looking at the issues we have examined in this edition, it is important for us to learn to follow God and hear His voice. This is a must if we are going to live differently from the rest. Or else we will live and die like the rest. What scares others will also scare us. But that is not God’s plan for us.
Imagine if Elijah had not heard from God that provisions were already made for him, he too would have run helter-skelter looking for food. If he had missed or was unsure which brook to go to, he might have missed God’s purpose too. This is a lesson for us. Let us listen to God’s voice and obey Him. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Pray: Thank You, Lord, for speaking clearly to my heart today that You care for Your own and You want to lead
me. I pray that You will help me to seek You for direction from time to time. Amen.
