God Understands
Luke 6:27-28
Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you (Luke 6:28, NIV).
I seem to hear someone say, “You do not understand what I have been through in life. My case is worst than Naomi’s. So, why should life be better for others when it hasn’t for me”? Maybe, I do not understand but the Lord says I understand.
I seem to hear someone else saying, “Why should I forgive them and pray for their good when they have mistreated me and caused me so much heartache”? Yet, I seem to hear the Lord saying, “Forgive and let go because I understand. I am the only One who can heal your broken heart and restore your broken places”.
Friend, it does not matter what has been done to us. In Christ, every offence must be laid at the feet of the cross before the One who paid for the sins of the world. We must ask for grace as often as we feel the pain of the mistreatment and persecution we have faced/facing until we are healed. Do not wallow in bitterness and anger. The Lord wants us to walk the path of love and forgiveness.
Naomi wished the best for her daughters-in-law in her pains. This is the message. If we know the pain of being mistreated and suffering then we must not wish others the same experience. May the Lord fill our heart with love and give us the courage to forgive and move on in Jesus’ Name. Shalom.
