Focus On Your Assignment

Matthew 5:13-16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven
(Matthew 5:16).

Another duty that is required of us in this season is the need to focus on our God-given assignment. Our mandate remains, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Therefore, let it remain our focus.

Focusing on God’s purpose for us as believers is an expected duty. We are to shine as light and bring others to the light, Jesus Christ. God has also given us individual assignments. We must discover it, develop it, pursue it and continue to make impact with it.

Apostle Paul was specific when he writes:“In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works, which God planned in
advance for us to live our lives doing” (Ephesians 2:10, NCV). You have a good work to do. Live your life doing it.
Don’t be distracted by what I or your neighbors are doing. Do yours. Fulfill your good work to the best of your ability and the grace of God upon your life.

Do not be distracted by the attacks and opposition you will experience. Daniel continued to do his work and serve the
king, his boss. He continued to pray and intercede for his people as well as serve as a prophet. His focus was
indestructible. He was committed to the Lord and his call (Daniel 8:27). May the Lord help us to do the same. Shalom.
