Find Somewhere To Serve

Colossians 1:25-26
God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you (Colossians 1:25, New Living Translation).

Friend, God has given us the responsibility of serving in our various church community and fellowships. It is time for us

to find where He wants us to serve.

Like the parable of the talents in Matthew 25, we have been given several abilities. We can do certain things well that would contribute to the growth and expansion of God’s kingdom and influence on earth. Let us not be like the young man who hid his talents. Rather let us see it as a responsibility and make sure that we multiply the gifts that we have been given.

Paul understood this.  He told the Colossians, “God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you (Colossians 1: 25, New Living Translation). He took it personal.

Until you personalize God’s call to occupy till He comes (Luke 19:13), you may not see a reason to join the choir, the prayer team to pray for your church or be an usher. Many of us may not even see a reason why we need to share the gospel with others.

It is your God-given responsibility; please take action irrespective of the weakness of your leaders and departmental head. It is God that you are accountable to and not man. The body of Christ has need for more laborers. Let us do our part.

Shalom.

Your Turn

  • In what ways you can begin to take responsibility for sharing the message of Christ with others?
  • What are the challenges that hinder you from responding to the call to serve?
  • Talk to God about your concerns.

Song:  Oh! Jesus I have promise to serve thee to the end.
