Faith Requires Building Up
Romans 10:17; Matthew 9:18-31
My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live (Matthew 9:18).
Our faith must be built up if we are to experience what other people have experienced and are still experiencing. If we want to see God do what He did in the Bible days in our lives, then we need to do what they did.
The passages we read made us to understand that when the ruler came to Jesus he was full of faith. His words to Jesus were devoid of doubt and fear. He knew what he wanted and told Jesus. He did not whine or cry. Rather, he told Jesus the expected end of his faith in Him.
I seem to hear him say: “Jesus, I am aware that my daughter is dead, the situation that I am facing is hopeless. But I also know that you can do something about it that is why I have come to you. You know what? I want You to come, lay Your hands on her and I know that she will live”.
The ruler saw Jesus as the resurrection and the life. O! That you and I can be this bold, full of faith and approach God with this confidence. O! that we can approach God in faith and prayer knowing that God will answer us.
Friend, let us assess our lives and ask ourselves questions? Do we really believe as these saints of old did? Think on these things.
Your Turn
- Pray for yourself as you have been challenged.
- Ask the Lord to help you build your faith in Him.
