Faith Is The Victory
1 John 5:4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith.
Rosalyn had the desire to go back to school to improve her skills so she could get back to work after five years of absence. She stopped working when she started having children in order to raise her children. Her last child is now a pre-schooler.
As a chartered accountant, she knew that she needed to improve her skills to learn some new accounting software packages. Underneath her desire was a strong fear that she would never be able to learn anymore because she is now in her mid-thirties. Yet, something in her kept nudging her that she could do it.
Rosalyn chose to believe the still small voice whispering to her that she could do it. She enrolled for an online course to obtain a certificate. Afterwards, she applied for a part time job in a company that allowed flexible working. She got the job because the human resource director considered her past experience. Within three years, she has increased her work hours and happy that the Lord helped her.
The Bible says in 1 John 5: 4: For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. Rosalyn’s faith got her the victory. Your faith will bring you victory when you understand how to use it.
Friend, is there anything you feel the Lord is calling you into to achieve this year? Do you think you will never be able to do so due to certain hindrances or perceived limitations? If you will face your fears, do your best and trust God to help you. I believe your faith will work for your victory just as it happened for Rosalyn.
Be bold this month. Step out in faith. God will supply the rest. Like Peter you too will come back with a great harvest (see Luke 5: 9).
Remember, “Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up” (Galatians 6:10, NLT).
