Faith In God
Luke 18:1-8
But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith? (Luke 18:8, NLT).
The Bible says, “It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him” (Hebrews 11:6, NLT). Friend, we need faith to stand for Jesus Christ in troubled times. There are several levels we need to sustain our faith namely:
1. Faith in God’s love for us. See Jeremiah 31:3.
2. Faith in His word. Mark 9:32. All things are possible including deliverance from the snares of the enemy from
time to time. See Psalm 124.
3. Faith in His power to hear our prayers, to deliver us when we face challenges and help us in time of crisis. See Psalm 65:2; 2 Corinthians 1:10.
4. Faith in His promises to save us and bring us safely home into eternity with Him.
The woman in the story has persistent faith. Jesus concluded saying,
“But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?” (Luke 18:8, NLT). Why? He knew that we would be tempted to give up along the way. Yet, turning back is not His will for us. Apostle Paul echoed this, “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him” (Heb 10:38, KJV).
Friend, persistent faith in God will see you through. This is what you should pursue. This is what we need to sustain. Shalom.
