Embrace Perfect Peace
Isaiah 26:1-5
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you (Isaiah 26:3 NLT).
As we begin a new week, I want to encourage you to embrace God’s perfect peace. One of my everyday desires is to walk in the peace of God. I love to be at peace with God and with myself. With inner peace, I can face any outward challenge.
Our devotional reading reveals certain things we need to do in order to enjoy God’s peace. They include:
1. Believe God loves you. Perfect peace can only be enjoyed by those who believe that God loves them and will do them good. God’s peace is for those who know that no matter what they are going through and what their circumstance says, all things will work together for their good.
2. Fix your thoughts on God. The more you observe your situation, the more fearful or depressed you will be. See Jonah 2:8. But if you fix your thoughts on God, you will experience His goodness.
3. Sustain your trust in God. That is, trust in the Lord always. We may not see what the future holds but we know who owns the future. If He can give us Jesus Christ and grant us eternal life, then there is nothing God cannot do. See Romans 8:32.
4. Be humble. Allow God to help you in every circumstances that you may be in and His peace will fill your heart.
Perfect peace only comes to those whose minds rest in God’s steadfast love. Shalom.
