Do You Believe God?

Genesis 15:6
And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted  it to him for righteousness. (Genesis 15:6).

For me, the simple definition of righteousness is to believe God, what He says and stand on the same page with Him.  It means to stand where God stands on an issue.

When God told Abraham that “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir” (Genesis 15:4), he believed God. From that point on, it was a signed deal waiting for fulfillment. In this case, Abraham’s faith and God’s promise would come together to bring it to pass.

The questions to ponder on are: Do we believe God as Abraham did? Are we men and women of faith? Are we boys and girls whose hope is in the Lord? Do we believe God’s word when He speaks to us or we think little or nothing about His words?

To benefit from the story of Abraham, we must learn the principles he built his life upon. Abraham developed his friendship with God and over time he was able to believe God for the impossible. He believed that with God, the possessor of heaven and earth, all things are possible because God is faithful.

I am praying that my life, my faith in God and in His promises, would grow so that I stand where He stands on any issue and reap the blessing. May this be your desire too. Shalom.
