Display Your Hunger
Matthew 5:6
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Regaining open heaven must be a passionate desire in our heart. We must display our hunger for it before the Lord. To be restored, we must get to the point of being tired of living under a closed heaven with the accompanying pain and struggle.
Today’s passage states it clearly that only those who hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be filled. Those who do not see a need for God cannot be talking of open heaven. Those who lack the commitment that is required can only wish for it. It takes hunger to isolate yourself and seek God. It takes desperate yearnings for God’s visitation to secure His attention.
Listen to this: “Heaven does not just open unto men, except they become thirsty for it”. It is the hungry that He fills with good things. Are you hungry and thirsty for a fresh touch of God? Are you crying out to God to touch you one more time? Have you reached the point where you know that if the Lord does not help you no one will?
Friend, God is calling you today. He says, “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price” (Isaiah 55:1). Respond to Him.
