Crisis Management

Luke 4:23-30
So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath… Then passing  through the midst of them, He went His way.
Luke 4: 28 -30

Jesus expected and managed the opposition well in line with God’s purpose. Sometimes He answered the
Pharisees and Sadducees when they questioned His actions or when teaching His audience. At other times, He
neglected them and walked away.

His actions were guided by a high level of discernment and trust in God’s judgement. From the passage we read,
the people had wanted to throw Him down the cliff, He just walked away. “Their city was built on a hill with a cliff. So they got up, forced Jesus out of the city, and led him to the cliff. They intended to throw him off of it. But Jesus walked right by them and went away” (Luke 4:29-30, GWT).

Another lesson we can learn from Jesus’ life is that Jesus was not freaked out by the opposition and the several
attacks he received. Rather, He focused on His purpose. From one opposition to another, He kept His focus and
went to another town. He went where He was accepted. He did not force Himself to stay where He was tolerated.

May the Lord speak to us and cause us to have discernment and teach us how to approach life through Jesus’ examples. Shalom.
