Complaining And Complacent Attitude
Numbers 21:1-9
And the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way… And the people spoke against God and against Moses.
Numbers 21:4-5.
To be complacent is to be self-satisfied and be unaware of the danger. To complain means to express discontent or
unhappiness about a situation. When you have a complacent attitude, you will not invest the required effort to make progress in life. Such an attitude will kill your faith and motivation to achieve greatness and be who God created you to be.
A complaining attitude will hinder the flow of God’s Spirit and power in your life. It will not allow the angels of God to come to your aid because you are too bitter to receive grace. Complainers are bitter people. They do not see any good in others. They are blind to the manifestation of God’s goodness in their lives.
Friend, these attitudes are not needed in our lives as we seek divine intervention in the journey of faith. Rather than complain when we are discouraged, take your case to the Lord. He cares for you. Find a reason to rejoice. There is something that is working in your life. Praise God for it. Imagine if we were living in the time of Moses, how many of us would have been alive?
A complacent attitude will cause you to miss your divinely arranged open doors. Complaining kills our faith. It attracts God’s wrath and judgment. Focus on God’s goodness. Maximize the gifts, talents and opportunities He has given you. Your change will come. Shalom.
Your Turn
- How are you faring in these attitudes? Ask for forgiveness if you have failed in these areas.
- Pray for the grace to be hardworking and grateful for all things.
