Be In Right Standing

Romans 4:13-17
For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law,
but through the righteousness of faith.
Romans 4:13.

To be righteous is to be in right standing with God with no sin. This, Jesus purchased for us. Therefore, to believe God for a promise written in His word is an expression of faith and it means you are standing where God stands because you believe Him.

Living in faith is the hallmark of a Christian. The relationship between faith and righteousness is mutually inclusive. When God means a thing, He repeats it so that we can hear it clearly. Three times we see in the Holy Bible that “the just shall live by faith”, or the righteous shall live by faith (See Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11).

It means those who want to live right as believers must live by faith. That is why Paul says: “for we walk by faith and not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). So when He says, “By His stripes we are healed” and you believe, what you have just done is to pledge your support to God’s verdict about your situation. And in this case, you shall be justified; healing will be your reward.

The Scripture says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness” (Romans 4:3). Friend, when we fail to believe God’s promise by faith, we are living in unbelief. Stand where God stands, and your hope shall not be disappointed. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Ask the Lord to reward you for learning at His feet.
  • Ask Him to reveal His word to us so that we can be full of faith.
  • Pray for me for more revelation and wisdom from His word. Thank you.

Song: I’m standing on the word of God.
