Be Grounded
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15, KJV
Another reason we need to study the life of Jesus is to be grounded in the word of God. The wise man writes,
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7).
Paul writes, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing
the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV). If we do not study, we will not be approved and be witnesses of the word
of God. If we do not study, we will not gain understanding of the truth God wants us to have.
Friend, there is a difference between knowing Jesus and knowing about Him. Our mission in this study is to know
Him. Paul says, “I know whom I believe…” (2 Timothy 1:12). Can we say this about our walk with God? This declaration can only come through an intimate knowledge of the word of God and His Spirit.
The question is, do you know Jesus? How much of Him do you know? Is it the story you were told by others, or the one you learned from Him as you read and meditate on His word for yourself? Whatever your answer is it is time to
know Jesus more. I am on this journey, let us go together. Shalom.
