Be A Door Keeper

Psalm 84:1-12
I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. (Psalm 84:10).

Spiritually, a door keeper could be anyone who has the responsibility of opening the windows of heaven to a city. They could be church leaders, intercessors, young or old. A door keeper is someone who stands in the gap once they see and notice that God has visited their church, life or family. They make it their duty never to let Him go.

Could this be the reason why we do not experience the presence of God in our lives and churches as it should be? Could it be why we lack persistent worshippers and intercessors? Or is it because there is none to entertain the presence of God with worship and to stand in the gap to intercede and confess the sins of the land and our churches?

Friend, is God asking you to be a door keeper on behalf of your family and church? Remember, the window of heaven that is open today may close tomorrow if there is no one to keep it open. This is one of the most important ways of sustaining an open heaven.

To enjoy the benefits of open heaven at all time, we must stand at the door and keep it open. When we do these we will never lack access to the presence of the Living God. May the Lord teach us more of His ways. Shalom.
