Accept Responsibility

Judges 12:3
So when I saw that you would not deliver me, I took my life in my hands and crossed over against the people of Ammon; and the Lord delivered them into my hand .

Friend, we have a lot to learn from the passage we read yesterday. My attention is drawn to our focal text. Life can be fumy and we have to learn to manage it, stay on top of the game and move on with it. Many times we will be served with both good and bad experiences.

Looking at the passage we read, Jephthah told the Ephramites, “When I saw that you would not deliver me, I took my life in my hands and crossed over against the people of Ammon; and the Lord delivered them into my hand. Why then have you come up to me this day to fight against me?”(vs. 3). With this he demonstrated responsibility.

We too must learn to accept responsibility and face the reality. Unfortunately, many times we would be left alone to take our life in our hands and fight the battles we are facing. At other times, we may be left only with a handful of “inexperienced or people with no connection” and still go ahead to win.

Could it be that God is waiting on us to do something about our situation so He can help us and grant us the victory we need? Could it be that the delay we are experiencing is because we are still waiting for an Ephramite who is not willing to help us? Think on these things.
