Abraham Entertained God’s Presence
Genesis 18:23
And Abraham came near and said, “Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked?”
(Genesis 18:23).
Hebrews 13:2 says, “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels”. Friend, only God knows how many God-designed opportunities for blessing we have missed because we failed to discern the presence of God in the situation, entertain it and be blessed by it.
Through the life of Abraham, we saw how he recognized and entertained the presence of God. We need to learn this too. Many times, God shows up in our times of fellowship with Him, in our church services and at other moments but because we lack discernment, we miss such holy hours. We also miss out on the things that God has ordained for our blessing.
By His grace, God has allowed me to experience such moments when He breaks into my worship time in church or during the message to do a prophetic extension on a word, song or a part of the message that could take me into another realm in the service. This is one of the reasons I love to go to church. I long for God’s presence and touch.
Friend, Abraham’s discernment and hospitality to these men turned his life around. It fast-tracked the fulfillment of the promise of a son. Let us pray and ask for this grace too. Who knows what would happen in our life if we manifest these virtues. Shalom.
