A Thought To Hold

Jeremiah 31:35-40
If those ordinances depart from before Me, says the
Lord, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever (Jeremiah 31:36).

Friend, as we watch the unfolding events in our world with regard to the Israelites and their neighbors, we need to hold today’s passage in our thoughts. We need to know and be rest assured that God’s covenant to Abraham and His promises to the Israelites will not go unfulfilled. In this way, we can be at peace and pray for the Jews from the position of rest and trust God to take care of them.

No matter what happened God will have remnants for Himself and the nation of Israel will not be overcome or overpowered by their enemies. God has said, “Only if these decrees vanish from my sight,” declares the Lord, “will Israel ever cease being a nation before me” (vs. 36, NIV). His word is true. We rest in His word.

Friend, we can also apply the truth in the passage to ourselves.  God’s faithfulness to us and His word is amazing. His covenant is unshaken and His word is reliable. You can always count on God and His promises to you too.

Remember, “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Number 19:19). Rest in God’s word. He will come through for you. Shalom.
