A Personal Heaven Space
Deuteronomy 28:15, 23
And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron. (Deuteronomy 28: 23).
xtending yesterday’s devotional thought, let us be challenged to seek the Lord for open heaven in our lives. We have a personal heaven space and we want it to be open to the Lord’s influence. It is worth stating that until your heaven is open you may not enter fully into God’s purpose and blessing.
The Scriptures make us to understand that Jesus’ life mission and ministry were not launched until his heaven was opened. See Matthew 3:16. Gbile Akanni writes, “Each man operates vertically under a ‘heaven space’. It is marked out for each person. If the heavens over a man, over a family or over a church should be closed, it may not be applicable to all men around him”.
This is made clear when we look at our focal text. “And your heavens which are over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron” (Deuteronomy 28:23). It means when the heaven over a man’s head is as brass, then the heaven over his life is closed. Somehow, then, we have a personal responsibility for the state of the heaven over our life.
Pray for open heaven, and the God of heaven will respond. He will grant you the blessing that comes with it. What is the state of the heaven over your life? Closed or open? Let us pray.
Your Turn
- Do you have unrestricted access to God, or you sense a hard struggle over your life?
- Talk to God about your need for His touch. Ask Him to open the heaven over your life.
Hymn: Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty.
