A Life Of Impact
Luke 8:40-56
Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead.
Luke 8:52
Living a life of impact and influence will place a demand on the grace of God upon our lives. Jesus’ life exemplified this to us. His life shows that we were created to be a blessing.
Paul writes to the Philippians saying, “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Philippians 2:13, NLT). God wants to work through us as He did through Jesus. We must be ready and willing.
Having had a busy itinerary, one would have thought that Jesus would be allowed to rest on His return but no! The
people were waiting for Him. See Luke 8:41. He ended up healing a woman with the issue of blood and raised Jairus’
daughter to life from death.
Both happened because the people had faith and He was willing. Friend, how can we emulate the Master? How can we be a blessing wherever we go? How can we bring smiles to people’s faces and families through the power of God in our lives? These are the things we need to think about as we study the life of Jesus and who He is to us.
Remember, He says, “Anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father” (John 14:12, NLT). Shalom.
