Samson’s Weaknesses And Solutions

Judges 15:1-8
Samson said to them, ‘This time I have a right to get even with the Philistines; I will really harm them.’ (Judges 15:3, NIV).

following are some of the observations from the life of Samson that revealed his weaknesses and the things he lacked so that we can take precaution. They include:

1. Lack of personal altar: Samson was one of the few Judges and leaders in the Bible whose record did not show that he raised or had a consistent personal altar. To his credit, he remembered to pray at the point of death and also in Judges 15:18. This lack of continuous fellowship with the Lord could be responsible for the mistakes he made.

Solution: We need a personal altar where we meet with the Lord on a regular basis for fellowship, intimacy and relationship. We must spend time to hear God and read His word. The enemy is after us, we must not give him the
advantage to get us. Those who stray from the Lord will become a prey in the hands of the devil.

2. Burning anger: Samson’s anger influenced his actions on many occasions. He fought unnecessary battles as a result. Sometimes, Samson used his strength and anointing for personal purposes. His statements in verses 3 and 7 were full of ‘I’ and ‘my’.

Solution: Let us watch out for anger. Moses missed the promise land because of it. Every anointed man has as a point of weakness. Recognizing it and bringing it to the Lord will help us. Shalom.
