The Word On Your Heart
Psalm 40:4-17
I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart (Psalm 40:8, NLT).
Another thing the Lord wants us to do this month is to write God’s word on our hearts so that we can take joy in Him and do His will for our lives. The truth is that the more we spend time on the word of God and know His plan for us, the more we will take joy and have pleasure in obeying and doing His will.
How can we do this? We can do this when we choose to study and know the word of God; when we write the word on our hearts through meditation and memorization. The word you know and memorize is the word that would come to your mind to help you in the time of need to build your faith and encourage you. Through the power of His word, the Lord will lift us out of the miry clay and set our feet on a solid ground.
Friend, spend time in the word and write it on your heart. It will change your life. It will do you good. God has us on His thoughts and He is willing to help and save us (see Psalm 40:17, NLT). Our duty is to keep God and His thoughts on our mind as we write it on our heart daily. May the King continue to reveal Himself to us and teach us His ways. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Think about your life and how much attention you are paying to God’s word and doing His will?
- In what ways can you increase the rate at which you write the word of God on your heart?
