Peace Be Upon Israel

Psalm 125:5
As for such as turn aside to their crooked ways, The Lord shall lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel! (Psalm 125:5).

By redemption and through the finished work of Christ on the cross, our eternal destiny in Christ is attached to that of Israel. Hence the need for us to care and pray for her. The Bible makes us to understand that we were grafted into the main branch to become heirs of salvation. See Romans 11:11-31.

We were once nobody but now we have become part of the household of faith. “At that time, you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:12-13).

We are connected to Israel and we must pray for her. Sometimes their actions and political inclinations may not be right or tend towards arrogance, yet we are to pray. The soon- coming King, the Lord Jesus Christ, will make Jerusalem His headquarters so we all have interests to protect in the nation and a future to look forward to there.

Today, declare peace over Israel. Say to her, “Peace be upon Israel”.  Pray for her leaders and all the issues going in the world that concern Israel. The Lord will reward you and you will prosper. Shalom.
