Let God Arise

Psalm 68:1
Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them  also that hate him flee before him. (Psalm 68:1, King James 2000).

Driend, to assume you do not have enemies or have those who seek your downfall is to live with great deception. To think that the problems you are facing, for example, the stagnation at work, the non-progressive career, disobedient children, marital problems etc, are part of life or normal, is to be self-deluded.

Jesus Christ reminded us that we live among wolves. He prayed for us to be delivered from the evil one. “I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one” (John 17:15, NLT). It means we cannot face the enemy in our power. We need the power and the help of God.

The Psalmist prayed, “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered”. Jeremiah prayed, “Let my persecutors be put to shame, but keep me from shame; let them be terrified, but keep me from terror. Bring on them the day of disaster; destroy them with double destruction” (Jeremiah 17:18, NIV).

Friend, our enemies are God’s enemies. Let us rise and pray that God would arise and scatter the enemies on our behalf. We will pray and ask Him to confound the enemy and cause His fear to rest upon them. We will pray and ask God to destroy every plot of the enemy against us. When we pray God will answer. Shalom.
