Misusing God’s Grace
1 Corinthians 15:1-20
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:10).
I thank God for sustaining your interest in this topic for the past few weeks. I also trust that you are being changed by Him daily.
Friend, we need to cherish and guide jealously the anointing and the grace of God in our lives. When we take it for granted we may get into trouble by spiritual negligence. This could cause the heaven over our lives to be closed.
How can a man misuse the grace of God? This happens when you begin to build an empire for yourself instead of pointing men to God. When you begin to do what God has not called you to do even though you are anointed. Your anointing is for a specific assignment, not for all things.God will withdraw His presence and close the heaven if we become complacent about the things of the Spirit. Until we realize what we have done and appreciate what grace meant to us, we may not be restored. Samson misused God’s grace but when he lost it, he realized its importance.
For example, not every teacher of the word is called to pastor a church, yet this happens often. It is keeping another man’s vineyard while neglecting your own. We will give account of what God has commanded us to do, not what we think should be done.
Your Turn
- Pray for the grace to be focused on the things of the Spirit.
- Pray that you will walk within the area of your anointing.
- Thank God for loving you and caring for you.
Hymn: Take my life and let it be.
